The number of upland cotton exports signed by the United States fell by 45% in 2023 to 24, with Vietnam, Pakistan and China as the main buyers. According to the latest report from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), from April 19 to 25, 2024, the amount of upland cotton exports contracted for the year 2023 to 24 was 22110 tons, down 45% from the previous week and 20% from the average of the previous four weeks. Among them, Vietnam was the largest buyer, with 6719 tons, followed by Pakistan, with 3950 tons, and China ranked third with 3405 tons. At the same time, South Korea and Mexico cancelledFreeroulettespinsnodepositThere are contracts of 250 tons and 136 tons.

In terms of export shipments, US upland cotton export shipments in 2023 to 24 were 40860 tons, down 31 per cent from the previous week and 39 per cent from the average of the previous four weeks. The main exporters are China, Pakistan and Turkey, with exports of 12735 tons, 6855 tons and 5766 tons respectively, followed by Vietnam and Mexico with 3655 tons and 1725 tons respectively.

The forecast for 2024x25 shows that the contracted volume of upland cotton exports from the United States is 7809 tons. Vietnam became the largest buyer with 2088 tons, while Turkey and Mexico ranked second and third with 1703 tons and 1226 tons, respectively. Pakistan and Ecuador also signed 999 tons. However, Guatemala cancelled the contract of 908 tons.

In terms of Pima cotton in the US, the export contract volume in 2023 prime 24 was 1044 tons, down 63 per cent from the previous week and 25 per cent from the average of the previous four weeks. Vietnam, China and India were the main buyers, with contracts of 409 tons, 341 tons and 136 tons, respectively. It is worth noting that India also cancelled the contract of 182 tons. Colombia and Pakistan signed contracts of 114 tons and 45 tons, respectively.

In terms of export shipments, US Pima cotton export shipments in 2023 to 24 were also 1044 tons, down 55 per cent from the previous week and 51 per cent from the average of the previous four weeks. The main export destinations are India and China, with exports of 431 tons and 386 tons respectively. Pakistan, Thailand and Colombia exported 136 tons, 45 tons and 45 tons, respectively.
